Our client, a thriving international concern in the Landscape Architecture sector (working on mostly high end Tourism and Leisure project world wide) based in Greenside is seeking an independent, confident, enthusiastic and Tech-Savvy (specifically Revit) Architect/BIM Lead to join their ranks.
Desired Education/Experience:
- Matric
- Architectural/ Interior Design/Landscape Architecture Diploma or Degree
- 5+ years of working experience
- Engineering and built environment industry knowledge and working experience
- Product knowledge of BIM software solutions and working experience with Autodesk Revit
- Proficiency in using BIM authoring tools to provide technical support and mentoring required to the project team
Roles and Responsibilities:
Architecture
- Create building designs and highly detailed drawings both by hand and by using specialist computer-aided design (CAD) applications namely REVIT
- Liaise with construction professionals about the feasibility of potential projects
- Consider constraints such as town planning legislation, environmental impacts and project budgets
- Work closely with a team of other professionals such as Project Managers, Building Service Engineers, Construction Managers, Quantity Surveyors and Architectural Technologists
- Complete planning applications and taking advice from local authorities, legal professionals and governmental new build departments
- Write and present reports, proposals, applications and contracts
- Specify the requirements for each project
- Adapt plans according to circumstances and resolving any problems that may arise during construction
- Play a role in project and team management
- View building sites, proposed locations and attend client meetings
BIM
- Oversee the organisation wide implementation, standards and enforcement of BIM
- Oversee the entire BIM process for specific projects
- Keep the organization informed about best practices in BIM and BIM software
- Look for efficiencies and productivity hacks in the organization’s BIM process
- Manage and maintain project content and source any additional content as needed
- Understand and ensure any changes in procedure and standards are effectively communicated to project teams
- Coordinate and manage BIM project data sets, workflow, and project set up
- Set up linked models and coordinate models across disciplines
- Daily model management administration and maintenance
- Understand and execute government standards by implementing during the virtual design and construction phase
- Provides BIM training internally
- Attend conferences, seminars, and workshops on behalf of the company to transfer knowledge internally within the organization
